Thanks for all the info. I will just make sure all connections (ground, antenna) are all in good working condition.

Dash Radio Performance

I have a 2006 Daman Challenger with the original in dash radio. The performance is poor especially in the AM mode. There is a lot of static on the AM mode. Also you can here clicking noise on the radio from the wipers again in AM mode. I am also wondering if part of the reason for the poor reception is the antennae installation. The antennae is mounted on the side up front above the drivers window. It lies horizontal just below the roof line. Has anybody replaced this antennae and improved the performance? Or do I need to just get rid of this original radio?

Coldwater, MI Campgrounds

I am looking for a full hookup campground recommendation for the Coldwater Michigan area. I have a 36' motorhome so need a decent size lot. I know of Waffle Farm in the Coldwater area, but never stayed there.

RE: Outside Storage Doors Sliding Reward

Thanks for all the replies. I will see if I can come up with my own fix. If not, I'll try one of the suggestions.

Outside Storage Doors Sliding Reward

I have two outside cargo doors that slide reward on their pivot points. They are the last two on the street side rear. They slide reward in time when travelling down the road. When they slide reward, the last door to the rear will rub the rear cap when opening the door. Anybody else have this problem? If yes, what did you do to fix it?

RE: 12v System Troubleshooting

I finally was able to check to see if the light under the front tv is controlled by the dash light intensity control. I turned the dash control wheel all the way past a click and guess what? Power was available to the original light wiring. I proceeded to put the wiring back to original. I also wrote back to Damon telling them to educate their reps on the operation of their products. I got more and correct help from this forum then Damon. Thanks for all your help. Next time I'll check here for help before I contact Damon.

RE: 12v System Troubleshooting

This light was not keyed to the dash lights per my investigations. I did get a suggestion from Damon to just run a new powerline to this light. Damon suspects a broken wire somewhere in the system.

RE: 12v System Troubleshooting

I found a bad 15a fuse under the hood in a gang of 12v fuses. I replaced it and power was returned to the power booster and the cigarette lighter plug. The power was still out to the under tv light. I did find a 10a fuse in the slot of the underhood fuse block in a 7.5a location. This location seemed to be dead. The fuse checked as good. Using a trouble light, we chacked all the fuses and this 10a in the 7.5a location showed no power. We did check it with the ignition key in run position as well as in the off position. There was no power to this 10a location. Seems like this is an open circuit. I am wondering if this is the circuit for the under tv light. If thi is the circuit, I am wondering if the circuit somewhere is open along the wiring system. As stated, there is no power to this one light under the tv. Still looking for an answer. I might just tap the power wires leading to the booster.

12v System Troubleshooting

On my 2006 Damon Challenger 355, I have no 12v power to the front under tv cabinet light, the antennae power booster and to the 12v cigarette lighter located under the instrument panel, passenger side. I checked all the 15a fuses and checked the operation of all the 12v items in the motorhome. All fuses are good and everything works. Is there an inline fuse somewhere? Why don't I have power to the front light, antennae power booster and cigarette lighter?

RE: Which CG In Venice FL Area

I haven't tried the Reviews path yet. Thanks 1951 Elmer for your info. All this is helpfull. The Painting Teacher, I'll check out the SP. However, aren't they only water/electric? To stay for a month or two, sewer hookup would be helpfull.

Which CG In Venice FL Area

We want to spend next January and February 2009 camping in the Venice FL area. We have a 36' MH. I located a list of CG, but having never camped in Venice area, not sure which ones are good. The choices are:
1-Camp Venice Retreat
2-Stay_N_Play
3-Emerald Coast RV Beach Resort
4-Ramblers Rest
5-Siesta Bay
6-Myakka RV Resort
7-Harbor Lakes RV Resort
8-Pleasant Lake RV Resort
9-Royal Coachman RV Resort
10-Punta Gorda RV Resort
As you see, there are many to choose from. I have been burned before picking a campground based on their website pictures and info. Any help on which one to choose would be appreciated.

RE: ceiling fan

I too agree on the support you get from Fan-Tastic. I called them on my fan about a whine sound at low speed. I was sent a replacement motor/fanblade/mounting bracket. In fact, I called them while I was in Florida and asked if they could wait to send the replacement motor until I returned to Michigan. He said no problem. Well, I received it today. I will always buy their product and suggest to others.

Recommend CG In Venice/Sarasota FL Area

We are planning to return to Florida next year for January through March 2009. This past year we stayed in Naples, Bradenton and then Lakeland. Next year we want to stay in the Venice/Sarasota area and not move around. It will be just my wife and myself. I am looking for full hookup and wifi. Any experiences would be appreciated.

Carrier Remote For Furnase Operation

I left Michigan on Sunday, Jan 20th, for Florida. I stopped in Lexington, Kentucket the first night. It was in the teens. I went to start my furnace with the Carrier remote. The furnace came on, cycled a few times to my setr temp. During the night, it did not come on. I tried to start it with the remote with no success. I replced the batteries, hit the reset button on the remote, hit the start button. It turned on the roof A/C. I hit the mode button until Igot the furnace mode. The furnase started. I went back to bed. A few hours later, The furnace was still running above the set temp. Needless to say, it was really warm in my motorhome. I hit the on/off button on the remote to stop the furnace. I had two electric heaters going at the same time as a way to help the furnase and to use less propane. The next night we stopped in Atlanta, Georgia. Again the temps were in the 20's to low teens. I tried to start my furnace and it would not start. I did notice a red blinking light in the roof A/C around the thermostat area. Has anybody had this failure? Does anybody know what this red bling light is telling me? I did have e repair man here in Georgia look at it. He found the furnace was ok. He suspects the thermostat is the issue. He did not have any parts for my Carrier remote system. He did give me a name of a repair tech I can conntact in Naples, Florida. Your input on this would be appreciated.

RE: 110 v Cicuit breakers

Both heaters are 1500 watts. I did not know that I plugged both in the same circuit. This circuit has a ground fault plug in it. I checked it out and it did not seemed to be tripped. The reset button was not popped.

110 v Cicuit breakers

On my motorhome, I tripped the 15 amp side of the twin breaker ( two electric heaters on this cicuit). The otherside of the breaker is 20 amp. When this happens, do you need to trip the non-tripped side first (in my case, the 20 amp side) then trip both at the same time? I tried to reset the 15 amp side by itself and power was not returned to the outlets. By accident, I tripped the 20 amp side, then flipped both up at once. This seemed to return power to my outlets. Not knowing for sure how these twin breakers work, I'm not sure if I did it right or something else happened to return power to the outlets. Any help on understanding these twin breakers will be appreciated.

RE: Driving Down To Naples, FL

Thanks for all the replies. I was already planning to change my departure time from Michigan based on the weather. We need to be in Naples on January 25. I will keep tabs of the weather using the mentioned web site. As to where we will stay in Naples, we will be at Rock Creek. Never camped in Naples before, I decided on Rock Creek based on a recommendation from a rv'r a friend met in Naples. We have old friends staying on Marco Island for the winter. This is why we are staying in Naples. I'm not sure if we would camp there otherwise. It seems to be priced high in Naples area. Next year we might try a different area.
